Dr. Arbind Kumar Chaudhary is a distinguished name in the field of Indian English Literature. He is not only editing an international literary journal KOHINOOR but also courntributing to a number of reputed literacy journals. He was declared Effulgent Star 2003 by the Home of Letters, Orissa. His two collections of poems entitled Eternal Voices (2007). Universal Voices (2008) and my songs (2008). This volume my songs (2008) has been dedicated to the suffering humanity. In the preface of t his volume Dr. Chaudhary asserts. The theme of the poem is based on nature, love, sorrow, life, death, injustice etc. To lead a poetic life is to embrace a crown of thorns as a bed of roses. As a matter of fact poetry comes as naturally as a child to the mother. This volume contains thirty four on diverse themes like nature, mysticism and rituals. Dr. Chaudhary presents words worth can bliss in such poems like cloud, Majuli, Nature, The Rainbow and The Spring. In the poem cloud the poet calls cloud a cloud of fine the quench the thirst of earth. You a clod of fire. Roar as a king. Wild with glee and carefree. A slender and a twig. The poem Nature reminds us of daffodils. Nature is under a vow of celibacy where fauna is ever free and easy. Nature will take revenge with a vengeance. Dr. Chaudhary creates mysticism in such poems as Death. Hell, Life and Man. He appears to us as William Blake asking about Death. O Death! You are a slave, of wound, weak and War. Of life, passion and creature. Of evil, demon and power. These problems remind us of serious questions in these poems without any answer. Life is a crown of roses, Life is a bed of roses, Ever in the wrong fox. Dr. A.K. Chaudhary presents the bliss of rituals and takes us to celebrate such festivals as Bihu and Holi. These two poems are marvelous in the whole collection. O Fellows! Melomania and Love mania. thrill celetialmania. (Bihu Geet) Dr. Chaudhary has also penned some poems on simple themes. In this category the following peoms come- Elegy, Explorer, Friend, Foe, Love, Man, Poet, The Poem, Religion, The Rich. The Teacher etc. In each of these with rhyming verse. In these poems he looks a master craftsman and champion poet. Away! Away! Judas Kiss You, viper thoughts! A snake in the grass. I, a baby blues! A sworn friends. You, a black eye, a sworn enemies. (Friend) The darling of the spring. In engaged in vital feeling. Nepotism and hyprotism Confirm the cataclysm. (The Poor) Dr. Chaudhary has written some satirical poems like Leader 1, 2, Terrorism and vision. The Leader poems 1,2 make us think where we are going. Faustus of the society. has rare vision for the prey, O Nest of the viper! Your name is Modern Leader. (Leader) Lack of love and wisdom. Stirs raw mind and for terrorism. Puupy-love and piggish notion. Breed draconian and demon. (Terrorism) The first poems Awake make us to brood and it presents a dismal situation and at the same time arise us to stand up against corruption and terrorism. Arise! Arise! Demon lies in every heart Kansa is the prize idiot at every plot. Krishna is mute at every moment. (Awake) Dr. Chaudhary has presented himself a champion of rhyming poetry and he has also penned Shakespearean sonnet. He is quite successful in his effort in this poetry volume to elope and arise the readers. This volume is a must read for every avid reader. The price of this poetry volume is also reasonable.
